I have heard that an altar in your bedroom is a bad idea for a number of reasons. I just wanted to know if anyone on here has heard of this or believe it to be true.

Wed, September 23, 2009 - 8:52 PMI have my altar in my bedroom and I wish I had an extra bedroom so they can have their own room. It depaends on the person I guess... I'm never ever sexually active ...(rolls eyes and sighs!!!)... so its okay for me. The only thing is that sometimes I feel like I'm never the only one in the room especially when I make my midnight prayers... strange things happen sometimes. But I've learned to understand the process of this and so far, all is well.

I've always had a small altar to the Goddess and God in my bedroom; of course, I am a Witch!

Oshun Altar
Clean a surface, preferably in a bedroom. Begin with a gold altar cloth. Place 5 peacock feathers in a crystal vase. It is also recommended to have a bowl of rive water on the altar. Arrange five cowrie shells on the surface along with a few pieces of amber. A single yellow candle can be placed towards the back. I also recommend creating the Oshun jar Luisah Teish describes to place on your Oshun altar. The jar contains honey, five cinnamon sticks, whole cloves, nutmeg, allspice, and a handful of pumpkin seeds. Any prayers you wish Oshun to answer should be repeated for 5 nights. By, Diana

Sat, September 26, 2009 - 9:37 AMIf you have very little space it is ok; but, make sure you put some type of curtain up that you may close it off. If you have more space it is best to not have it in your bedroom due to purity issues.

Tue, September 29, 2009 - 8:21 PMI learned my lesson I think had sex in bed room with altar in the room and came down with a horrible stomach flu from hell and the whole time i was puking my brains out i couldnt shake that this was my just deserts for the offence never doing that again with out covering up the altar lol. -

Tue, September 29, 2009 - 8:33 PMOMG Philip... we really learn the hard way huh?.... that happened to me when I ate some of the food off my altar... it looked so so good I took a cherry.. then I found myself sampling everything... then I tried to give some to my kid.. he looked at me and asked me if I was crazy... I rolled my eyes and kept eating... about a half an hour later this heat came over me and I was cold sweating.. my stomach started to knot up and I felt a pain like I have'nt felt in my life... not even labour was this intense... I was paralized and my son had to come tend to me... he said I was incoherent and writhin about in pain he almost called the ambulance.... Spirit taught me real real good... I never did that again... never ever ever lol... but what happened when I had sex was that I attracted this spirit husband fright that would have sex with me at night and I became ill it took a while for me to get rid of it but that was one of the scariest moments I have encountered. -
